Vantaa 2016 LOC offers ETSC participants day trips to Helsinki City and to Suomenlinna Fortress between July 12 and Jul 15.

Helsinki City

Experience the best of Helsinki during guided 2 hours walk, including inside visits to the unique Church in the Rock (it's almost always open) and the famous Helsinki Market Hall. You will also see major sights like the National Museum, the Cathedral, the Parliament, Finlandia Hall, one of ten most beautiful Railway Stations of the world, Havis Amanda - the symbol of Helsinki, daughter of the Baltic see and many more.

Suomenlinna Fortress

The construction works of one of the biggest Nordic fortresses, Suomenlinna, begun in 1748. The best way to get to know the fascinating story behind the World Heritage Site of UNESCO, Suomenlinna fortress, is to join a guided tour. During the guided walking tour an authorised guide tells about the 260 years of eventful history of Suomenlinna under the rule of three different states as well as the life on the island today. The guide will take you to the most important sights of the fortress, such as the Great Castle Courtyard, Piper’s Park and the Dry Dock, which in its days was among the largest in the world.
